Transplanting seedlings

After the first set of true leaves are developed it's time to transplant the seedlings. For maintaining a good growth it's advisable to transplant your plants progressively. Before putting it in the final container you can use an intermediate size container. In this case the seedling will be transplanted to a 1-2 Liter container then a 5-6 Liter and finally a 10-11 Liter container.

When roots are visible at the side of the root ball you need to transplant it to a larger container. When you wait to long there's a great chance your plants becomes "root bound".  A plant becomes root bound if it is allowed to grow in the same pot for a long time. In nature, a plant’s root system naturally extends three times the length that it does into the sky. As plants grow fresh foliage above soil they are simultaneously extending and thickening their root systems.
